Abalone pearls are colorful and irridescent displaying blues, greens, red and purples. This natural pearl is subject o the whims of nature, and the environmental pressures created by man. Found offshore on the Pacific Coast from Baja to Alaska, this monovalve mollusc has been severely threatened by over fishing resulting in a ban of all commercial fishing and a daily limit of 4 shells per sports diver. |
